Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
-
LGN currently accepts Aetna and is expanding insurance access. UnitedHealthcare is expected to be available soon, with additional California plans potentially to follow. Coverage for medical nutrition therapy varies by plan and benefits must be verified.
-
Yes. Most 1:1 nutrition care is available virtually, making it easier to fit appointments into real life while still receiving personalized, comprehensive support.
-
Nutrition can influence many interconnected areas of health. Clients may come to LGN for support with digestive concerns, energy and fatigue, metabolic and blood sugar health, hormones and women’s health, cravings and relationship with food, or simply feeling unsure about what their body needs. We’ll look at the bigger picture and determine where nutrition can make the most meaningful difference.
-
We’ll take a deeper look at your health history, symptoms, eating patterns, lifestyle, goals, and what you’ve already tried. From there, we’ll identify priorities and begin building a practical nutrition plan around your needs rather than trying to change everything at once.
-
Not by default. LGN does not use restriction simply for the sake of eating “perfectly.” When specific nutrition strategies are appropriate, we’ll discuss why they may be useful, how long they’re intended to be used, and how they fit into the bigger picture. The goal is to build confidence and flexibility around food, not more fear or rules.
-
When appropriate, specialty testing may be considered as one piece of the overall assessment. Testing is not required for every client, and recommendations are based on whether the information is likely to meaningfully guide your care.
-
That depends on your goals, health history, and the level of support you need. Some people need focused guidance around a specific concern, while others benefit from working together over several months as we implement, assess, and adjust their plan.
-
A free introductory call is a chance to talk about what you’re experiencing, what you’re hoping to accomplish, and whether LGN is a good fit for the support you need. There’s no expectation that you have everything figured out before reaching out.
-
Yes! FSA/HSA cards are accepted for eligible nutrition services. We’re also happy to provide documentation when needed for reimbursement or substantiation. Eligibility ultimately depends on your individual plan.
